The Agricultural Committee led by Collin Peterson (D-MN) is the biggest remaining obstacle to passage of Waxman-Markey. Yet, farmers would benefit from many provisions in the bill, and unrestricted greenhouse gases emissions would be a disater for farmers (see “ A Stormy Forecast for U.S. Agriculture “).
